Looking for a set of mirror caps that I can paint. I had a set of S4 look a like ones but they went to crap so looking for another set to paint.

 

I hope the one (OEM S4 mirror caps) I bought won't be a crap : (
What colour of mirror caps are you looking for? Mine is light silver with chrome caps on it. Let me know if you are interested it.

 

I don't understand what you mean. Are they just factory B6 or B7 caps that are painted silver like your car? Do you have a pic?

 

It is factory painted light silver with self-installed chromed cover. Here's the picture,

 

That would be the same problem I have now. They're not painted buy a metallic thin layer of foil is layed over them.

 

No sure that problem you are experiencing. I have no problem with the chromed cover and it looks great. I just want to go for another route with S4 caps. I can take a closer shots if you would like to take a look.

 

Well the ones I had had a metallic film laid over them so at first they looked like S4 mirror caps. The winter took a toll on them. Now they look like matt aluminum foil that's bubbled up and there's spot rust all over them. The finish is completely ruined. What I want to do is take an OEM set of caps and paint them the same colour as the S4 mirrors and make sure to put a clearcoat over them.

 

I ordered a set of OEM S4 caps, so I will have a set of black ones once I get them next week. I don't have a price in mind yet, but I'll shoot you a pm when I make the switch.
