It does show black, but I was wondering if it was like a dark blue or green. Sometimes pics have a way of showing a different shade.

Not at all.
When your on "D" drive, you can either leave it as is or you can use the paddle shifter and change your gears at will.
If you want the "S" sports mode, just shift the stick down to S.
YOU CAN DO ALL THIS ON THE FLY...
