Xenone Headlights (UK)
The saga continues....
Nearside (with the new bulb) failed completely last weekend (7 days EXACTLY
after fitting the new bulb) No light output at all
Back to Reading Audi and onto the diagnostic set up (only way to check HID's
due to the high voltage set up)
Ballast and igniter has failed. £200 for the part plus £130 to fit (needs
front bumper removed to access) 14 days delivery as the part is on back
order.
Total (so far) £470 for a blown headlight. (inc vat)
Owned car since new, and its 4 years old now so out of warrenty.
Im just waiting for the other side to fail now:>((

john, just buy non oem, spending 500 quid per side its not worth it,
your system has seperate ignitors and seperate ballast, new Hella ballasts
like mine are all built in and fit straight in your car, just buy a D2S HID
kit from ebay, 250 quid max, that inc bulbs and ballasts.
Give me a shout if you want more info, but dont spend stupid money at the
dealer when its out of warranty
