I agree completely (Pontiac Aztec notwithstanding). After my initial
negative reaction, I have come to quite like the new snout.

Well.. "the rest of us" is not a very large group it seems, because most
people I've heard (me included) seem to like the new style. Especially on
the 6 it looks marvellous!

Drive a Toureg (I'm assuming we are talking about the Volkswagon SUV,
correct?)

I was in one yesterday, (gasoline V- that someone else was driving, and
was not impressed. It does not equal any Audi in my opinion.

I also saw, but did not sit in, the new Volkswagon Phaeton. If that is an
$80,000 USD car, I'll keep my 99 S 420 quite a bit longer.

those butt-ugly new BMWs.

The new Audi look is great. And most Europeans seem to agree.
It seems our taste differs slightly from the tastes on the
other side.

Probably a stereotype, but I've always thought of European tastes as running
toward the more refined and understated look, something that was very well
expressed IMHO by the 2002 S-8, a supercar in a suit and tie. The new cars
with the screaming front grille beg for attention, from the pictures.

I have a 488 cubic inch American roadster in black with silver stripes for
the days I crave attention. The balance of the time, I'd like a refined,
yet powerful and good handling vehicle, preferably one that can go to the
snow without chains. The A-6 seems like a good candidate. I'll wait to
see it in person.l
