slighly choppy engine idle
i'm getting a very smooth idle that just occassionally stutters pretty
deeply on the tach. i just did a 40,000 tune up and everything is in
good shape. is this just the result of an aging engine, or might it be
indicitave of a greater problem, such as sticky valves, bad spark plug
wires, etc?
i have a 2002 a4 1.8t.

Or an ailing 02 sensor or MAF or an air leak or a dodgy coilpack?
Have someone use a code reader to see if the ECU has logged any out-of-scope
faults and start from there.

Check your vacuum lines for splits - even the very small ones.
