Lousy Experience at Dealer
Just had my A6 in for a diagnosis of some problems and a spark plug change
at dealer in CT. The prices quoted for parts and also labor were outrageous as compared to other dealers. In addition, I paid around $160 to replace 6 spark plugs and when I examined the engine later at home, found the spark plugs were never changed. After confronting the Service manager with the car and unchanged plugs he gave me a refund! I'll be keeping far away from that dealership! Hopefully you are all aware that service writers are usually on commission. |

I took the local Audi service manager out in my one-year old A4 when a fault could not be diagnosed and after demonstrating the fault he started shouting at me. His attitiude was so bad I wanted to stop the car, get out and walk away. BTW I'm 6 foot and ~17 stone so walking away was to avoid kicking the little weasel up and down the ******* road. Note that I had not even said anything other than 'there is the fault', so it's not like I was being abusive. In the UK it's much more a case of 'when you've bought it then it is your problem', even when something is new; dealers will claim black is white to avoid fixing anything. |

I'm pleased to read about your (and other posters) favourable experiences with other Audi dealers though; I might try my next nearest dealer for servicing, even though it's much more out of the way and much longer to get to, and for sourcing a replacement if I stick with Audi. However, my wife, how loves Fords, is now giving me the hard stares / raised eyebrows routine whenever I mention Audi; on saying the word 'Audi' I calculate her stare could now melt through 100 feet (vertical) of permafrost per hour, in a 10' radius. |

Re: Lousy Experience at Dealer
I bought my Audi A4TDi Quattro from Highland Audi in Inverness two years
ago. They are the nicest car dealer I have ever dealt with, straight, honest, helpful and I drove away feeling really pleased. I recommend then to anyone buying an Audi. In contrast my previous car was a BMW bought from John Clark in Aberdeen. Worse car dealer I have ever been to, fancy showroom but just interested in your money and how much they can screw out of you. A most unpleasant experience going there. Oldun |
