Greetings,

I've removed the wheel and the spring clip. I've found the black cap
on the upper and lower sections of the calipers and I pulled the caps
off. AudiWorld seems to indicate that I need a 7mm hex key to remove
a couple of bolts under the caps to separate the calipers and get to
the pads. When I insert the hex key, it seems like there is nothing
to turn (i.e. the hex key doesn't seat into a bolt head). What am I
doing wrong? I've tried different sized hex keys to no avail.

stupid and that cheap. And you, stinkyhead, had audacity to talk to me about
WalMart University and lecture me on giving a break to small business
owners.

Hire a mechanic to do what you are obviously not qualified to do. It does
require intelligence to fix cars. Call you roommate's uncle for christ sake,

No. No ups. I drove it around tonight after I put it back
together. I was smart enough to know when to stop, admit I was in
over my head and ask for help...obviously a lesson in life you have
yet to learn.

At least I'm man enough to try to learn to do things, instead of
jipping other people who would do the work for me. For your
information, if I can't get it done within the next few days, I will
call him. I won't ask for a discount either. He deserves to make a
living too.

Don't you have an inspection mirror, so you can see whether they're
allen or Torx?

They're allen on a 1997 A4, if that counts.
