Re: Emission Control System
year?
still under warranty.........take to dealer. Might be 5-7 years on the
emission system.
Might be an ign coil popped up and needs to be pressed back down.
Have you looked at anything?
You can get your codes scanned to see what the Diagnostic Trouble Codes are.
Some auto parts stores will scan them free.
Maybe you bought some regular fuel for it or got some bad gas.
BTW that light flashing is NOT GOOD and the car should not be driving far at
all since it could cause more damage.

Re: Emission Control System
I bet one of your coil packs has gone.
Get a VAGCOM check to tell you which one it is and then get a replacement from your dealer if the car is less then 5 years old as it will be covered by warranty (extended for chocolate coil-packs from 3 years). It's an easy job (literally disconnect the pack and put a new one in) but you'll need to know which one it is.
This means one of your cylinders isn't combusting because there is no spark. Probably not a good idea to drive while putting neat fuel down through the CAT.
Personally, if I were driving an FSI there would always be a spare coil-pack residing under the boot floor...
