Correct Tire Pressure for 2004 A6 S-Line with 18 inch Wheels
I'm looking for someone who owns an A6 with factory 18 inch wheels with
235/40 R18 tires to see what your tire pressure sticker recommends. My 2004
A6 27T S-Line came stock with 17 inch wheels, so my car doesn't have the
correct label. When I bought the car Certified, it had the 18 inch 9-spoke
wheels. I've been trying different pressures and 40 psi seems to give even
wear but is a bit harsh. I'm interested what the official factory
recommendations were.

I'm running a 2003 A4 1.8T q with 18" RS4's, 225 x 40's, mine are pumped to
35 and i have done 21k miles so far, still look pretty new. 40 seems a bit
high to me?

I have an '04 TT 3.2 S-Line. It has 18" wheels, which I think
are part of the S-Line package. They has Toyo Proxies on them.
I'm running them at 45psi. The sidewall says they will go to
fifty. It makes the ride a little hard, but if I wanted a soft
ride I would have chosen something other than the TT.
I'd guess if I were in the OPs shoes, I'd ask the tire
manufacturer what the lowest acceptable pressure is. I'd start
there, and then start raising it by a pound or two a week until
the ride quality became unacceptable, and make my judgment there.

The 2007 A3 3.2 with 225/40R-18 tires says 44psi or higher for heavy
loads.

245/40Y18 2.2 BAR 31 PSI 2.2 BAR 31 PSI
These are standard tyre pressures under normal conditions, under load I
would imagine you can up it to 40, but I cannot find anywhere saying put 45
in???

Interesting. 2.2 BAR = 31 PSI in the US too. Maybe it's higher in the
US so the bad road conditions don't pinch the sidewall or crack the
rims. What's the tire load rating? It's 92 here, which makes the tires
very expensive.
