Airbag light on 01 A4

Dealer says I need a new clockspring. Wants $600 to start-may need
airbag. Is a clock spring a $500 part? He said it takes an hour to fix.
Is this a common problem?

You can get them on ebay for 28 usd!Havent used one yet but its worth a shot id say!!
