A4 Cab - Instruments

My Instrument panel (speedo, Rev etc) used to drive with the illumination of
the clocks and the needles lit too
now its flickering on and off,
I took it to Audi who say they have rectified the problem, but it appears
all they have done is pulled the plug for daytime driving
the illumination only happens with sidelights or headlights, not for daytime
driving now.
Anyone know whats the right setup for the A4 Cab ?
Clocks illuminated white plus needles lit red ?
Needles only ?
No lighting at all without headlights ?
Thanks

The instrument illumination (pointers and scales) should always be on
when exterior lights are turned on.
There are four options for when the lights aren't on:
1. Nothing lit
2. Pointers lit
3. Scales lit
4. Pointers and scales lit
The setting can be altered with VAG-COM, or similar.
