I have a 1997 Audi A4 2.8 for sale, in Other - Ontario.

Engine Size: V6


Asking price is $1200



due to a change in my career i have decided to put my car up for sale. i have had it stored over the winter but it did need some work before hand and which is why i'm asking a reasonable price.

this is a 1997 A4 2.8 V6 Quattro (automatic)

it has heated leather seats, sunroof, all the power options and is in the silver color.

what it does need that i know of is the following :

brakes and rotors (all 4 wheels) there is a small rattling sound from the exhaust so either a clamp or bolt is loose. a couple tires might need to be replaced, and a tie rod but not 100% sure. the rubber trim along the top of the windshield is missing but it DOES NOT LEAK !!

the interior is in excellent condition save for a few signs of wear and tear due to it's age, but they are very very minor. also, i have since removed the tint as i was going to go a bit lighter due to having issues with night driving. i have also replaced that missing headlight washer cover you see in the pics... so everything looks good now.

i am firm on my asking price as i have done my research and see others posting their car for $2000 and up. i have taken into consideration the things that will need to be done as far as repairs to make the asking price fair.

i can take detailed pics for those that need to see things or know about something for your research, just let me know.

 

update, i have done all the necessary repairs on the car (brakes and rotors, and exhaust leak) and had a mechanic give it a once over to see if anything else is a concern and it was given a thumbs up. so this car would pass a safety no problem now !

with that said, the price is now $1500 since i was selling it for $1200 in the original condition it was in prior to the repairs. i could not find the edit part of my post to make the changes...

price is now $1500 as-is.

would also consider a trade for a 1998 blazer ZR2 or a bmw 318 Ti.

 

If this was in my area and had a standard transmission, I'd definately buy this beauty.

Kilometers would be nice to know for interested buyers and according to the picture it has 229000?

price back to $1200 as-is ... but needs little to nothing to pass a safety. i just did all the repairs it needed that were major.

i just found a work truck that i need so i would just like to let this go so that i can buy it. this is the lowest price i will sell for since it's by far the cheapest on any forum for one in this condition.

the kms are now 351K but mostly highway as i work from the falls to stoney creek to brantford.

 

final and absolute crazy price... $800 as-is

you are NOT going to find a car in this condition for $800 in ontario. i just did a craigslist, kijiji and auto trader search and came up with nothing. everything is $1800 and higher.

i found a truck i want, but the seller needs a deposit to hold it and is giving me till wednesday. i do not have the space to park two vehicles so i need to sell this quickly to make room.

with this asking price i am keeping the stereo in it to put in the truck so you will need to provide a stereo once purchased. will need very little if nothing to safety as i had my mechanic do a full inspection and got the thumbs up. i could do the safety but would ask $1000 for the car, but with my job i don't have much free time and would need a security deposit before doing that to make sure the sale is solid.

so i'm now going to let the car go as a parts car since i have found and bought a work truck. there is really nothing wrong with the car, and was told i could actually make more selling it for parts than to just sell it as whole.

i would be asking $1200 for the car if you just want to take it in one shot... but if you need anything the car is complete. the transmission was just swapped out a few months ago, the engine is in excellent condition and i just did the brakes and rotors. it would pass a safety no problem. i just have no time to deal with every email or PM so would just like to move it and be done so i can enjoy my days off and not have to worry about someone coming over at a certain time.

I could certainly use the engine! Shipping etc would probably be a nightmare I would imagine.

 

i actually just got the car certified... so if you wanted to give me $2000 we could look at having it shipped to you. either by train or truck....

 

I should have bought this car, but I decided to try and fix my motor. Good luck with sale , I hope someone buys it and enjoys cheap luxury!

I know i've only got one post, but consider that I went through the trouble of registering to get your attention.

Could you please PM me I'd like know more about the car, IE rust, other issues, body damages etc... and things like how long you owned it for and if you did regular oil changes etc.

I'd be buying it as a whole, for road use if we make it there.
