Boost problems, crazy turbo lag pls help!!!!!
I'm new to this whole forum thing, but I always find out helpful tips on here and it seems that at one point or another we all experience the same problems on our cars. With that said, I have a practically stock A4 B5 1.8t AWM engine. Just a cone air filter with a straight pipe and a boost gauge. When I first installed the boost gauge a while back I was getting 8-9 psi 10 at most and that was only sometimes, which I think is a little low for this engine. Anyway a few days ago I started peaking at 7 and holding at 5 psi. I know that's not limp because limp mode won't past 5 psi. So I tried the whole thing with the n75 disconnecting it manually and electrically. Ectrically it wouldnt pass 5 psi but when I disconnected it manually (from the hose) it peaked at 8. I know you have to be careful with going WOT cus you can over boost but it didnt. I read that if it over boosts then I have a bad n75 but it didnt. I disconnected the one that leads to the turbo, then the one to the wastegate. Still same problem on 8 and no overboosting at WOT. So i was bumbed about not being able to figure out the problem.bYesterday I was driving and heard a mild flutter when accelerating and letting go. So I figured it's possible that is the 710n valve I have. Could this be the issue? And of it is should I go with the same valve or change it to a different one? Like the hyperboost or evolution ms dv? Would they produce more psi than the 710n with my stock setup? Also I have major turbo lag with the problem I have. Anything helps.
