Hi
I have a 2004 audi 1.8t quattro but am also having problems with the engine light which keeps coming on.
Based on the VAG Com it first threw up the lambarda sensor which I changed then it gave me codes which related to Coils 1 and 2 which i also replaced.
Now I am getting the code 17705 - 'pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve p1297 upper limit reached'
I then cleaned out the throttle body but still have the same issue. The car idles a little rough and it seems to be drinking alot of fuel. I have also changed the coolant temp sensor and spark plugs.
Can anyone help? I am running out of ideas and cash

I get the P1296 code as well after just having the Coolant Temp Sensor replaced on warranty. Engine still never reaches operating temp and fans come on at start up. Pretty sure that replacing my thermostat will fix it - I'll be sure to let you know but that might be where you want to start. Hope that helps.

Hi! I am working on a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro V6. I am absolutely unable to find where the Relays and the Secondary Air Pump is located. This is very urgent so any speedy response would be extremely appreciated. Please Let Me know ASAP!!

Anybody ever get the "Gear Recognition Signal" DTC? There is no corresponding code in the tranny, it's seems a lot of people get this but have no idea what is throwing it.

Been a while but I thought I'd update. I replaced the thermostat myself (not a tough job really with the amazing write ups and tutorials here, just takes a while to do, but then I'm a slow methodical worker). Fixed the problem and no codes ever since.
