Replacing Camshaft Sensor - 99 2.8L
Hey all,
After replacing the battery, ignition coil, spark plugs, wires and a crankshaft position sensor due to my car not starting after throwing some misfire codes I am now getting a camshaft position sensor bank 1 code. Car still won't start. Does anyone know which side of the engine is bank 1 and are there any other codes I should be anticipating after changing this? |

Re: Replacing Camshaft Sensor - 99 2.8L
I'm 99 % sure that bank 1 is the drivers side. I had the cam position sensor code as well, i replaced it and still had the code. I know now it has to do with the wiring and not the sensor, so just know that if you replace the sensor it may not cure the issue. FYI I have an A6 2.8 as well.

Re: Replacing Camshaft Sensor - 99 2.8L
Depends if it is the DOHC. Bank 1 on the DOHC is passengers side in the front. Have the same issue. Brand new plugs, wires, coil pack, and CMP on bank 1. Still getting P1338 with cylinders 1-3 misfires. Am at a loss. |
Re: Replacing Camshaft Sensor - 99 2.8L
I have a 98 A6 Quattro with same issue. Did replacing camshaft position sensor fix your issue, if not what did?
