Default New A6 vs. the Old one...

Other than the physical differences, what changed when Audi launched the new A6 at the end of last year?

- redesigned interior layout and dash
- centre console modelled on the A8
- handbrake replaced by a electro-mecehanical switch
- more interior room in general
- keyless entry
- 3.2L V6 FSI
- S-line package plus Misano red exterior available
- 34% increase in torsional stiffness
- improved suspension (parts of the rear from the A8 )
- adaptive headlights (like any other new audi nowadays)

wow, is there a list of those things somewhere or is that the stuff you just know offhand?

I actually like the styling of the older A6s better...maybe its just the grille on the new ones that kind of annoys me.

Never liked the previous gen A6. Looked too "fat" in a bad way. New one is much more refined in the looks department. Of course, the UrS6 is nice too.

There are PDFd out there that mentions what are the improvements over the previous gen.

The big difference I like is the 3.2 has a timing chain vs. a belt
I have a new to me (2005) A6 coming in from the US in about two weeks or so.

I think the C5 widebody is one of the nicest cars... I like the new grille on the C6 but the rest of the car is soooo boring. Audi definatly went backwards on the new A6!

I love the new A6, but Im not ready to buy a car with that much computer crap in it. I'll stick with my 2003 until I can trust that all the bugs have been worked out. I just have memories of the 1984 Corvettes and their digital dashes konking out consistantly after a few years.............
