Default Some Boost questions?

Hi Guys
I just got my first Audi, and i just joined.

I bought an 2000 A6 2.7t 6spd, great car and i love it.

As for my questions, what is the max boost that you would want to run before i should be afraid of blowing an HG.

Second, i would like to put a boost gauga in but i cant seem to find anything for guages or pods, can somebody point me in the right direction.

lastly, where on the intake is a good place to tap into for the guage

Thanks
Joel

Welcome!

Max boost of the stock K03's is debatable

2.7T stock boost is 9psi. For "reliability" purposes, K03's don't want to spike much over 18 and sustain max 15 - 16psi. Don't worry about HG's and high boost as the K03's will fail well before.

AWE and others have boost gauges but not sure about A6 mounting pods. Most folks T the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line for boost gauge installs and a dampened T should come in the kit.

You don't have to worry about stock HG's until earliest 25psi boost and beyond

Ask AWE or have a look for a kit similar to this for the A6:

AWE Tuning - Products

Ensure you use a T similar to:

Audi C5 A6 Quattro 2.7T > Interior > ES#2989 T-Fitting with internal no buzz restrictor - ECS Tuning Inc

I'm finishing up fabricating a vent gauge and a sterring colum pod, once it's done i can make another fairly easily. it looks exactly the same as the PODi gauge, but for 1/10th the cost. i can throw in a gauge and the pod for about 50 if not less. but i still have to finish it :-p

Cool, but i have an A6, and the venting is diffrent, i was hoping for some secret compartment that i could pop open and see the guage, but there really isnt anything?
