Re: new to audi
You're definitely best to try to find out what's been fixed up on the car so far. If the timing belt hasn't been done, that's good for a couple grand for sure. Most repairs (from what I've found) after warranty aren't cheap. (I'm sure most out here will concur).
That being said - if you take care of your Audi, it will take care of you. I firmly believe that they are great cars (for a long term commitment) if you're willing to put the bucks into maintaining them!
Best of luck!

We do Complete Timing Belt Kit installs on 2.8's for ~$1K, which includes all the T-Belt system common wear parts as well as new Waterpump / T-Stat / Coolant flush and new Accessory Belt.
Suggest check the heads for oil leaks at the valve cover gaskets, chain tensioners, front crank seal, rear crank seal and oil pan as they are common with higher mileage. Most people do not realize how much work it is to replace most of these gaskets!
Listen for PCV air leaks at idle and replace plastic PCV hose assembly if needed, along with a new jet suction pump and oil cap.
Inspect all fluids and replace as needed. If unsure, replace all fluids as it is "cheap" insurance.
With a bit of work and attention to detail, a high mileage 2.8 can run just as good as when it was new.
Shop around for pricing as the dealer will be Mo$t Expen$ive.

THANKS , I eventually pick it up, i brought it to a reptuable WV/Audi machanic here he says everything looks good, timing belt are in good condition which he said it was probbaly change as they don't last that long. the only thing i needed to fix was a coolnet leak, 4 wheel balance, tighten one of the blet as it was loose and a oil change. im loving the car tho drives great, i hope nothing major break anytime soon tho .
