i have a 99 a6 and i recently installed factory zenon's and am having problems with the daytime running lights they are messing up the lights i need to dissable it any help would be appreciated.

 

First off don't you have to disable the DTR by removing the terminal for it?? I believe the lights then work with just the switch - now which teminal is the DTR I don't know! My son runs zenon on his 100CS and all he did was take out the DTR teminal.

The relay used on the A6 *might* be the same used in the B5 A4/S4s. I have instructions at home on what to do to prevent the DRLs from coming home as we did a few of these mods on the B5s.

Basically there is a relay where we have to prevent the lights from getting lower power for the DRL and we simply slipped a piece of electrical tape in between the two contacts to prevent the low power to be sent to the lights.

For now, if you have the xenons installed already, just make sure you turn them on right away, otherwise your ballast is going to try to light up the xenons and I think it might do some damage to the ballast long term if it continues to do this.
