Question New to Audi, few questions

Hi everybody,

Two weeks ago I leased an A4 quattro 2012. It is a demo car with 1400Km on board( now I have 2a000). To be honest with you I am dissapointed because: I did about 400 Km with a full tank ( the average now is 13.8/100km).I only drive in the city, mostly rush hours but I am very easy on the gas pedal ( honestly it is very rare that I exceed 2000 rpm ).
Also engine sound very noisy and there is a knoking. I leave in Montreal and we have extremly bad roads so the suspension feels very stiff and a lot of noise is comming from the windows and doors ( looks like something is not tight properly.)
Now, the cars I drove in the last decade are : passat 1.8T 2000, passat 1.8T 2004, passat 2.0 tdi 2007, honda accord 2.4 2008, passat cc 2.0t 2011.
Considering Audi is the primium brand of VW I was expecting probably too much?
Is this gas consumtion normal? ( according to tech specif absolutly not).
Is it the noisy engine normal and all the vibrations on bad roads?
They told me there is a 8000 km check up, so maybe they will do some adjustments at that time wich will improve car performance?

Please let me know what do you think, I really appreciate, thanks a lot.
Sorry for my english!

Is it an Automatic or Manual?

1) Check your tire pressure
2) On your steering wheel, go into menu to get instant consumption and watch your foot and the measurement. you'll notice it's better to push it a little to get into desired speed (70km/h or 110km/h) then touching the gas to maintain your speed or hitting cruise control (It will be your new best friend with this car)

Thank you Chuck,
It is an automatic.
I noticed that on highway, with no traffic and by manteining a constant speed around 120 km/h it consumes 6.5 ! I am surprised dough that in the city it jumps at almost 14 !! It is more than double and, again, i do not push the car at all, as I said, mosly around 2000 rpm and under. In the manual they say consumption should be 10/100km. I was expecting maybe 11-11.5 but not 14....Again very happy with highway wich is less that they estimated i.e 6.6/100km.
thanks again

Push it a little more to 20/100km to reach your speed then ease up on it to hit 7-8 in city. Don't worry about under 2000rpm, just be sure to stay under 3000rpm when the turbo kicks in.

Hi,
Basically the problem is the city consumption. I drive mostly rush ours and downtown. A lot of stop and go, a lot of lights, heavy traffic ( Montreal). So not realy possible to reach a certain speed . Anyways, I called the audi dealership and they say they will check it when i go to change the tires. Again, I am very hapy with the highway/no traffic consumption( 6.6/100), just disappointed that the city gas milage is very far of what audi predicts ( av 10/100).
Regarding the turbo, I tought that it is on all the time , or at 1500 rpm , are you sure it only kiks in at 3000 rpm ? I know for sure that the 2.0 turbo on the passat cc works this way ( turbo always on ) and it is practicaly the same engine.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure it kicks at 3000rpm.
City consumption is bad i know. I get about 500-550km a tank if i baby it.
