I don't have the keyless-entry package. I have an A4 2010 premium.
I wonder how I can turn off the engine without having to turn off the whole car so I can still listen to the radio when I'm early to my work place.
Right now, I push it once, the whole car turns off. Then I have to restart it again to have the radio, I think that's kinda dumb.

Is there a trick to it?

Is there a button on your radio to turn off and on? On my 99.5 A4, i just toggle with the on and off switch.

(with my engine off or no key inserted)
*if the radio push button is on the ON position(but the radio is off), i press it to turn off, then press on to turn ON the radio.
*if the radio push button is already on the OFF position, i just press it to turn it ON.

 

You can turn the radio on without having the key in the ignition.

 

Push and hold the radio button for a few seconds. The radio turns on w/o a key in the ignition.

 

Ok guys! So now it works with your way.
So now the process wll be.. i turn off everything.
And then re-turn on my radio haha.

My old car was a bit smarter... but if it has to be this way.. i'm won't complain.

Good to know, cuz I had the same problem and never thought of just turning on the radio again!

 

radio shuts off itself after a 2hrs i think? not too sure on the time.
