Engine Oil (B8 A4 2.0T)
I filled up 1/4 L of engine oil as the Oil running close to the min indicator through the MMI. Since then, MMI reports oil reading is not avaliable. Any idea?

The reading comes back after 2 days...It was not very stable when it first come back on, one min it's full, the next min was down to half. I suggest that you don't add extra until the meter settle. (Suppose to be 2 mins according to the manual...) Anyhow, I use 5w40.

Re: Engine Oil (B8 A4 2.0T)
Hi:
My A4 2.0 also showed min level and I added 1 ltr 5w-40 syn. MMI shows "level not available" and maybe i shd check after 2 days as you suggested or did you find a different way to check i.e immediately after adding oil. This over-engineered approach to check level is quite frustrating and I may be driving the car for 2 days at a low oil level. Any suggestions here would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Engine Oil (B8 A4 2.0T)
I just topped mine up today.
I checked the level was close to min after engine was hot.
Left the MMI in oil check mode switched of the car and topped up, I them left the hood up and got in and turn ignition on with out starting and checked agin and the level went up to just over halfway. Service is due next week and did not want to put too much Royal Purple in as the oil will be changed in 10 days or less.
I find that driving the car them stopping and turning off wait a few minutes for the oil to settle and my display reads every time.
Hope this helps.

Re: Engine Oil (B8 A4 2.0T)
Hi:
Tks for the reply. Being unable to read level i started the engine and letft it idling to operating temp, shut off engine waited 3 minutes, checked level and it showed "level ok". guess that is the procedure - some procedure!
Another problem i have been having is steering shake ever since the car had 0 km - i apologise to this good forum (this is an age-old topic). how did you manage to get this fixed if at all you were having the same problem.
Thanks and regards.

My only caution is to be careful not to overfill!! I know that some of you without dip stick went out and purchased one because of lack of faith in the digital meter.
