Default Dash menu features

Hello,

I was just going through my manual and saw some neat options I can change with the dash menu. It says I can display gear change indicator... I cant seem to figure out how to do this :S

On the MMI i go to CAR and under INSTRUMENTAL CLUSTER it doesn't give any option for gear change indicator light? When I hit SETUP when I am in the CAR menu, it states no further settings are available.

This is on a 2011 A4 Premium.

I might be wrong (I am going to check this on my car) but I think that the change gear indicator is for a stick shift car to change to a higher gear for better fuel economy
What you are looking for is for the display to show gear while drive is selected
Move to tiptronic mode and your dash will show the selected gear

No, not the display that shows which gear im in. What im talking about is in the manual it shows a gear shift indicator ( round light) that tells u to shift up or down.

I have a manual shift 2010 A4 Sline, and by going through the on board computer display options (it is not in the MMI menu in my car - I believe it is on one of the stalks - wiper, turn signal, etc.?? - can't remember), I was able to find the shifting display which essentially recommends when to shift into the next higher gear for best fuel economy. I don't use it for fuel economy - I find it helpful to remind me what gear I'm in.

I notice you have the Triptronic, so I don't know if what you are looking for is available with the automatic although you would think it should be available for paddle shifters. Did you try your manual or the dealer? They might help.

I can tell what I gear I'm in just by looking at the RPM and speedo and listening to the exhaust note

That feature is only available in cars with manual transmission.
