Finally saved up enough to purchase an audi!!!!!

Looking into buying a CPO 2010 audi a4 with around 20k on it.....

Was fairly excited about buying one until I spoke to a person who worked at an audi dealer (a friend) and he warned me about the problems from the a4.

He mentioned engine check lights as well as other warning lights on the dash that will light up sometimes without reason. He said that most if not all of the warranty claims now at audi was due to engine check lights from the a4. He had one client that changed out 2 engines but still had the engine check light on......

I said to him I thought this problem only existed with previous generations but he said the problem still exists and is still strong on the new B8 generation.....

Looking to get some input from you guys on whether this warning has any merit to it!

He suggested buying an A5 or an A3 as these don't have these problems.

 

given that all three cars have similar if not same engines I am a bit skeptical about that.

 

2006 A4 S-line auto trans. Check engine light comes on after refuelling. I check gas cap for proper closure. After first light up, my indie replaced a ventilation valve and the CEL keeps coming on, but goes out after a few days??
