Default A4 2.0t 2010

Hi:

I need some feedback how vibration issues were resolved so far. I am taking my car to Uptown Audi for balancing for the 4th time @ 17,000 km . First balancing was done at around less than 500 km. An independent shop (good acquaintence) chkd and said 2 tires are out-of-round and for these models the control arm should also be checked. if tires need to be replaced do I have to pay or start talk with Audi Canada as problem has been there since brand new ? Based upon your experiences how would you deal with this problem ?

Thanks.

If this is a 2010 vehicle, then it should still be under warranty. Take it to the dealer, get a loaner and tell them you're not coming back until the issue is resolved. I assume they put the tires on the car when you bought it - whether this is a tire or suspension issue, it's their problem. Be a pushy ***hole and the make the service guys sort this out. Totally unacceptable on a new car.

Early B8s came with suspension bushings, forget which piece, control arm I presume, too soft. Suspension would enter into a harmonic vibration at speed. They were all subject to free replacement, on an "if complained about" basis. They changed production line part. My late 2010 came with the newer part and never shook . .

..until I hit a two inch lip on a driveway ramp and broke a belt in a front tire. Audi dealer was uninterested to say the least. They drove with me and denied it was not perfect, with their head visibly shaking side to side as car wobbled on the highway. I had not bought the tire protection.

Many of this dealer's higher mileage loaner cars have tires with broken belts. They think its normal.

Car was squirrely and unpleasant to drive until....

...I bought 4 2011 OEM wheels with OEM tires ready to go with zero miles for $750, the seller had them taken off before car delivery at dealer while his soup to nuts Statis package was being installed. He was giddy about that car. Its as fast as an S4 for the same price. (I would rather have the S4.)

Your dealer can say if your car came with the early bushings and if they have been replaced or not.
