Diesel engines produce less CO2, but also much more NOx and SOx and other small particles (even after taking into account the lower consumption and the filters - these small particles cannot get filtered), which are considerably more damaging to the environment: they're dirtier than petrol engines, not cleaner

There's a YOUTUBE video with a reviewer driving a Audi A6 with that DIESEL engine in the states. They absolutely LOVED it. I believe it's the same power plant that's currently in the Q7, TOUAREG. I just sold my TDI Touareg, and it had the 3.0 V6 DIESEL and it had HUGE power & torque!!

I would really be OVERKILL in an A4, the 2.0T from the passat, would move the A4 just fine. A buddy of mine flashed the Touareg to just under 300 bhp, and over 475 ft.lbs of torque. 35 mpg in a 5000lbs suv.

adblue nox scrubbing exhaust, the truck is a marvel of engineering.
