whining noise
Hello fellow Audi owners,
here I am again posting...sorry!
Anyway on my way to work to work last week, I heard a very annoying noise coming out of my engine bay. It kind of sound like metal to metal scrapping. It not loud but if I drive beside a car you can gear it. I brought to my mechanic and he can't seem to find the problem. It only makes noise when i'm driving, when its parked no noise at all. It happens on 1st and 2nd gear around 3000 to 3500 RPM or when I accelerate.
Has anybody run into this problem? I need some advise, this is really bugging me.
BTW - I own a 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro - manual trans.
Please someone help me out!

Re: whining noise
Hello All,
Just need some advise, I've owned my Audi A4 for just over 2 months. I dropped off my car to my mechanic and he just called me with very bad news. It turns out that my cam follower is shot, fully worn out to the point that its not a 'cup' anymore. It has damaged my cams and my fuel pump, who knows what else is damaged. Since I've owned the car for just over 2 months, its it the dealers responsiblity? Before I picked up the car, I aked if everything was checked out and the sales person said that it was all checked, I have nothing to worry about.
I'm so pissed, i can't even think! let alone type!
Anyway do I have any options here? because its looking like over $2000 in repairs. Some one please help me out!
Thanks,
Moo2266
