Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with taking the "A4" and 2.0T or 3.2 badges off of the trunk of an A4? thinking about doing it myself and wanted some advice. Thanks

 

Done by lots of folks gently heating the badge with say a hair dryer and using floss to separate the glue.

My question is why bother - it's only a badge Seems A4 owners do this but I don't recall an S4 owner removing badges; wonder why?

 

I've removed my s-line badges, got new exhaust tips and blacked out the grill. So basically have a knock off S4. so the badges are the only thing that ruins it x) S4's are bosssss !

 

For sure.....hair dryer and dental floss. Then some compound to clean up the area.

 

yup i did the same with heat and dental floss as well plastic knife to scrap what was left on and then claybar to clean all the little bits of dirt off and leave clean smooth finish afterwards

 

that and the S4's leave it on cause the "S" stands for Snobs! =)

Yeah its very easy, hair dryer and dental floss like everyone else said, also i used a plastic caulk remover? or er? lol im not to sure, but i used it to carefully remove the remaining glue. i then clay barred and waxed the area.

 

I've had a friend use something called "Goo Gone" to remove residual adhesive, works well.

I've considered taking the badging off purely because it's a pain to clean all the nooks and crannies in between the lettering when I'm washing my car...

 

I would use fishing line as oppose to dental floss but same result nonetheless, never done it on my audi but have done it on other cars before...

 

I debaged the "A6" and "2.8 Quattro" on my C5 A6. I posted instructions on the procedure on the C5 A6 forum. But basically a hair dryer on medium setting plus dental floss should do. Be sure to wash the car and polish/wax the panel after.
