tranny problem
this might be a possible tranny problem that i am experiencing.. when i slow down my car from second gear to first i can feel the gears shifting into place causing a little jerk in the car at very low speed.. it is an automatic/tiptronic 2005.5 audi a4.. i have tested this on another extact a4 as well and it doesnt seem to give me the same problem as i did on mine. buh when i went to the audi dealer they couldnt find the problem what should i do any recommendations? inaddition i did show them the jerk.. however they said it was normal?! the reason im still arguing against them is that i dont feel it on my friends audi a4 and i do on mine therefore i jump to a conclusion that there is a problem.. =/

Re: tranny problem
First a disclaimer; I'm not a mechanic, observations are based on experience.
Do not think that you have a problem. I have an 05 allroad does the same, previous car was a 99, VW, Tip., same feel.
I think that it is just the gears are a little taller between first and second giving you a stronger feeling of the downshift.
My solution is to never shift into first until dead stop.
Alex.

Re: tranny problem
I make the same mechanical disclaimer.
When my A4 1.8T Quattro, showed similar symptoms, I checked the transmission fluid and found it needed a topup (0.5qt) and the symptoms disappeared.

Re: tranny problem
Figured i'd move my post.
I was unaware that the transmision was designed to be downshifting into first while moving, i ussually just let mine doin that shift on its own.

Re: tranny problem
i think i have the same problem wish is
I drive an Audi a4 2005 1.8T Quattro
while the car is in Parking, switching to D drive mode the car fells to jump or kick, I have tried On Reverse but no problems and when am driving around 120Km/h and slowing down to 30km/h or 50 the car fells to downshift faster wish fells the car is stopped faster,
I went to 2 mechanics conclusion
First one says you have a problem in transmission, to check were problem is we have to take it out . WTF
second one says, it most be bolt or joint in the transmission or shifter that's make pressure to it and makes the car jump..
what will be the cause has anyone had the same problem before I go to an audi dealer would highly appricated
