I called an audi service rep and he said i can switch them out without any problem because the adaptive lighting isnt related to the xenons. He did however say that i have to get the right type example h7-h11 but didnt tell me which type i need so i was wondering if anyone can help

there is an option tab on the right that you can customize for your type of car i just am not sure which one i should get. I appreciate anyones help

Just buy the bulbs without the ballasts since your ballasts are dual programming. Plug in the new bulbs. You'll need D1S bulbs.

I would suggest calling DDM and discussing before making/placing an order.

 

but i think the problem is with the ballast and ddm doesnt have D1S as a bulb type

Call them. They have D1S ballasts and they're local plus relatively cheap(er).

 

I think there is some confusion. If you want to keep your original headlights you can't use an aftermarket hid kit H7-H11 hid replacement bulbs, they won't fit your orginal headlights, which use D1S bulbs.


For the ballasts, the connectors are usually not the same as Oem, you should check before you buy.

 

Did you find what you were looking for? I know someone that has a bunch lying around(bulbs).
