Default Question concerning tunning.

I just baught a 2007 Audi a4 2.0T quattro with DSG S-Tronic tansmission. Now my question is out of curiosity. Is it a dumb idea to install performance upgrades on a non manual car. In this case stronic? Just wanna hear your thoughts.

I apologize if this is a noobish or dumb question.

it's not dumb at all. It's your car, your money, so if you want to make it a bit better to drive then just go ahead and enjoy. Besides, that dsg is one good transmission.

Take me for instance, i have a 97 automatic and that thing doesn't even have tiptronic for crying out loud. But it doesn't stop me from improving it and make it better to drive than my sisters' new volvo and subaru.

Not dumb at all. Talk to some of the other members who have automatic like PhinX404. He has made a number of improvements including ECU tuning etc.

i would chip forsure! big gains in hp and torque! APR stage 1 chip is a good place to start. cheapest upgrade with the biggest results. when on sale the fully loaded is normally around 600ish... check out APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles. they have the sale on now and all the shops that do the installs will offer it at that price.

i know H2Sport in Georgetown is great place to deal with.

I've had to own a lot of cars with auto transmissions because my wife won't drive a stick. That didn't stop me from modifying them! Just make sure the tranny can handle the additional power.

That's verry important... In my case, because I have a CVT tranny I can not go more than the APR stage I; the tranny will not be able to handle the extra torque.
