Need help - driver side front speaker cutting out

Need help - driver side front speaker cutting out
Hello Everyone,
I would appreciate advise on how to get to wires inside front driver door hinge rubber boot ...
When I open driver side door speakers in it turn off. When I pull on rubber boot in the door hinge they come on. There is some kind of contact problem.
Do I need to take off the door panel to get to it?
It is 2006 A4 B7

It shows that I could just pry the boot open and inspect the plug ...
