Hi mate,

First thing you could try is testing the driver side bulb on the passenger side.
Typically the bulbs last forever, but this would eliminate any doubt.
I come from BMWs and usually this would indicate a bad balast.
Hopefully someone with a bit more expertise can chime in.

Good luck,
Simon

Double check to see if your headlight housing in not loose. I heard that when sitting in the drivers seat the light looks like it is flickering, but it is just vibrating because the housing was loose.

Your bulb has to be replaced. I had the same problem on the driver side and a new buld did the job for me. It has been ok for more than six (6) months now. Your ballast is fine. As far as getting a new bulb (D1S), you may get one on line at a much cheaper price than the dealer. Got mine (both sides actually) for 26$ for the pair on eBay. Came from HK. Got them in eight (days. They are a bit tricky to install but there are some DIY threads that will help you.

Installation : Driver side: You need to remove the power steering fluid reservoir in order to make some room to reach the headlight back cover.

Passenger side: You need to rremove the air filter housing in order to get some room to reach the headlight back cover. Passenger side is easier than driver side. If you need help, do not hesitate to write.

Good luck.

I have 06 A4 and the passenger side flickers. This is an old and common problem from what I have seen. I have heard to check the ballast, the bulb and the mounts. In my case this only happens occassionally. I always leave on the atomatic setting. When it happens, I tirn the lights off for about 5-10 secounds and then back on. Every time the flickering is gone. May be luck- don't know.
