Engine check code - ??
I had an engine check code. dealer checked it out and said it was "Fault stored for "A" camshaft position slow response (Bank 1)". Said it may be around $3000 to fix. Any experiance out there as to what it really means and alternatives, etc.
Any comments are appreciated.

They didn't give me the exact code but it MAY be DTC16394 and O0010 may be relevant. These may not be much help. I was hoping the description would point someone in the right direction as to what the issue and solution may be.

Was it raining recently in Halifax? Did you wash the engine? How old are your Spark Plugs?
How old are your Spark Plug Wires?
Dealer wants $3000.00 because they do not know what this is and they will have to replace part by part. The problem may be in your worn wiring for spark plugs, or the wires are wet and dump.
I bet he will tell you to replace the sensors as well, but I do not think the sensors are bad.
If you step on the gas and the car hesitates at first I bet the problem is in your wires.
