Exclamation change speedometer from mph to km ???

i resently imported a 2009 audi cabriolet from the usa to canada and absolutly love the car except for the fact that the larger white numbers on the speedometer are in mph and the smaller grey ones are in km . i was woundering if there is a way to do the conversion so that the km are the larger whites ones . just as it would be if i bought in in canada . at first glance it would look like i could just change the facia of the speedometer but i doubt its that easy . also when i tried my friends 2011 gti the display in between the rpms and speedo had the possibility of showing live speed so i figured that would be fine for me but i checked every possible setting in the menu of my a4 and was not able to get live speed , only an average speed

any help would be appreciated

Hello there!

I know it's been a while since you posted this, but was wondering what was the outcome of all this. I am waiting for my 2012 A4 from the US and would really want to change the fascia of the speedo to see KM in larger fonts.

Thx a bunch

Bruno

lol almost a year to the day

new speedo means new cluster means setting your odo to zero and then having to explain that when you sell the car..and that means skeptical buyers.

I'd leave it in mph. It has KPH on there in the middle so what's the big deal?

You can change the odometer from Miles to Kilometers via the wiper control stock. But it does not change the speedometer

You need what's called a Digital Ratio Converter. Changes the voltage signal to the dial so that the numbers for mph become kph.

The electronic display can easily be done. The dealer I got my US car from did it for free and you can do it at home with no tools. On my 2007 anyway you could. I had new inlays put on my speedo at a cost of around $150.00 (I cant remember exactly). The guy who did it took the cluster out and apart. Took the OEM inlays off and replaced them with aftermarket that look identical to OEM. Then calibrated it. Its been about a year and I have had no issues. Much cheaper and easier then getting a new cluster.
