I had my brakes changed a month ago and now it squeals when I brake. Only makes the noise when the car is right about to make a complete stop. I also realized if I brake hard, the noise is not present. What is wrong with my car?

 

does it do it when cold or warm? did you replace or turn the rotors as well? Did you replace with oem pads?

 

OEM pads and rotors both replaced. does it every so often when its hot or cold, dont know what is going on. any insight?

 

oh... i thought they were cheaper pads, as they sometimes squeal... i would take it back to the shop that did the work to see whats up...

 

are they bedded properly? or could be the pads themselves, some pads just squeal more than others especially those that are directed for track-use.

 

Mine do the same. I took it the Audi dealership and they discovered I had some rust on it. They advised finding an empty parking lot, gunning it in reverse and breaking hard. Tried that it and it got rid of the problem for a couple of days. A friend who has had 4 Audi's tells me they do so when its cold.I'm waiting to see if the issue disappears after the winter.
