Default B7 Changing day running lights!

Hello,

I have been looking for a post on how to change the day running lights. The light on the drivers side is burnt.

I found once a posting using Google search engine. but i didnt save it and I cant find it anymore. The posting was about how to change the day running light without removing the bumper.

i dont expect anyone to do the search for me. But I would appreciate if someone could refer me to a link that they know about.

I will be looking in the meantime.

adios.

See if the stuff in this link helps - suggestions are to go in from the front wheel well or remove the airbox

air filter box removal is on passengers side, for the drivers side you have to dismount the power steering resovoir and push it to the side (do not disconnect the hoses) and then you have access to the back of the headlight

Thank you for the tip.

Today I went to the dealer for alignment and they mentioned that the day light is burnt.

So I asked them about the cost of changing the bulb and they said $45+tax.

The price went down to $18 when I mentioned that I had the bulb. I bought the bulb so I could change it my self.

Story short, at the end of the alignment the dealr said that they will not charge me for the bulb. I asked if they had to remove the bumper or any other components. But no, they mentioned it was a simple twist and swap. They mentioned that the driver's side is easy compared to the passenger's side.

Anyhow, I am happy it didnt cost me anything but I am still interested in finding how the dealer did it in less than 2 minutes.

I have Bi-Xenon headlights. Driver's side the socket for the bulb looks like it's right out in the open, close to the radiator. Passenger's side it's underneath the snorkel thing that leads to the airbox. Look at where the DRL from the outside, then look at the approx same location on the back of the housing.

Sorry - I thought your original question was about changing the DRL system by replacing the whole headlight or something, not just replacing a bulb.
