Well I dropped off my car for my Timing belt service and oil change etc.

What is a good deal for this? I'm expecting in the $1500-2K range?

Ok, Got the car back today. Here's what was done

Timing Belt
Water Pump (Metal)
Serp Belt
Plugs
Oil Change
Air Filter
Cabin Filter.

Tax in, $1369. I'm impressed!

 

Nice. I thought the B7 had a timing chain..... obviously I'm mistaken. ;-

 

Did you have the service done at Mark Motors or somewhere else?

I thought that A4 B7 2006 2.0T doesn't have to get that done at 115K. Only the 1.8T gets done at 115K and the 2.0T is ok up to 175K but recommended at 160k???

Nope. It says in the manual at 115K. Full tune up and Timing belt

 

I also have a page in the manual that says for the 2.0T check wear and tear of belt at 115k, change at 175k. The page is loose from the manual though, seems like it was put in as an afterthought. Is the belt designed to last for 175k?

 

Timing chain is on the 4.2 S4 model.
