Default Air-condition problem

Guys,
my air-condition stopped working suddenly, the compressor comes on though , like I notice different engine sound every time I put the compressor on and off by switching between auto and econo, but the air is still worm, engine light didn’t come on . Any idea what might be the reason? Thanks

Sounds compressor is either shot/out of refridgerant due to leak or the cold/warm gate from the HVAC is effed. Pretty sure you can read the pressure in the compressor system with a vag-com but I've never tried it.

Yeah but if the compressor out of refrigerant, it will not even start, that is a safty feature most Audi air-condition systems have to protect the compressor from getting damaged by running without refrigerant for long time. I checked the air-condition pipes and they are not cold.

If the compressor is starting and running and the lines feeding the core aren't cold than to me that would indicate no pressure aka: shot compressor.

I'm looking through my bentley but I'm having trouble finding it. It must be a split unit too since the car has dual zone climate. Just for fun have you tried setting one side of the car to hot and one side of the car to cold and seeing what happens? Then reversing the sides?

Now that is weird.... is it properly cold? as in the compressor is doing its job? If so it's obviously a problem with the climate control system gating.

yes, it gets properly cold. i figured its the gating. how much am i in for? is it possible to just reset the servos? don't they automatically calibrate themselves, would unplugging the battery help you think?
any DIY around for this?
