Hey everyone,

I'm curious to know exactly how intricate upgrading the deck on a 2006 A4 would be? The car in question has the Bose speakers throughout so I'd be more interested to know what it would take to just replace the deck and what it would take to ensure I maintain steering wheel controls.

Pioneer makes some really nice decks with all the bells and whistles, and are even said to be releasing a system much like Ford's SYNC sometime this year. These units are double din and have enough in house amplification to power the speakers in the car nicely.

There are kits on EBAY that'll seamlessly integrate a double din deck into the dash of an 06 A4. However the tricky part comes in by passing the amplifier and getting steering wheel controls back in.

So does anybody have any experience with this? Can recommend any good stereo install guys in the Toronto area? And have any idea how much all of this would cost?

 

If it's too much work, how much would an Audi NavPlus system cost and would it be a rather simple install to get it going?
