Default Results of boost leak testing on A4 - Comments !?

Hi there,

I've done the procedure and we came with a strange result.

First, we followed this procedure from a4mods.com to build the device and do the test.

We effectively unplugged this hose and put a wine bottle cap instead for the test

We did find 3 things :
- We heard a leak
- We heard somme bubbles !! It was like the air we shot in the hoses did go directly to the oil pan and was doing bubbles! We are not sure it was the oil pan, but it was looking like this.
- The whole thing did not kept pressurized. We could shoot air to infinite...

What's to conclude about those 3 points ??

Thanks!

Well well, it appears that this test is claimed to be easy to do, but it looks like it is hard to interpret!

Any inputs are welcome still!

you need to try to hear where its coming from and put water with soapy bubbles all over any vac lines and try to find a leak that way.

not sure if you did that yet.

And just checking, you removed the oil cap when doing all this right?

I did put some water & soap but did not find any leak, but we could hear it.

Now concerning the oil cap, when we did is as on the picture : we removed that thing and plugged a wine bottle cap instead.

Is that what you are referring as oil cap?

And why did we hear so much bubbles coming from somewhere? It was really like shooting air in, maybe, the oil pan?

on the top of your engine their is a cap that you take off to pour in oil. If you left this on this is probably why you heard bubbling.
