from husky.

Immediately, the engine responded sharper, no knocks, I was like WoW. The 91 from the Mountain and 27th Esso is crappy.

Will be watching the MPG, but man, $1.38... sigh... wish I has a better job.

Did you always use Min 91 octane or did you use something less from time to time. The reason I am asking is you mentioned no engine knocking. If you were using no less than 91 there shouldn't have been any knocking in the first place.

I tend to use Shell because is doesn't contain Ethanol. The times that I put in (then) Sunoco 94 I really didn't notice any significant difference in performance or mileage for the extra cost.

91 since I bought the car.

Maybe its also because I was in uhaul's 26 footer all day yesterday.

I'll give shell a try next time.

I am on stg 1+, maybe that's why. but it was tune for 91?

North Van highway 1, "the cut"

with 94, I was able to pull all the way up on 5th, while with 91 esso not really, and the engine will hold for 10 sec, then knocks...

I'm loving my a4 now, may it never die. (until the b8 gets to $20k range anywas XD).

Your tune likely just has an aggressive timing map that was detonating on 91. If you're so inclined, with 94 you may even be able to extract additional power by adding more timing.

Care to mention the tuner? Assuming your car is mechanically sound, any tune definitely shouldn't be knocking when running on the fuel it was designed for.

Is 94 that hard to find? Just curious... it's everywhere here in Quebec.
