Default replacing seat..

just sudden curiosity...

how much does it usually cost to replace the entire driver's seat?

I read on a Hyundai forum that it costs $1200 for a seat in a Sonata...

How much are Audi seats?

I don't know the price of new but i wouldn't buy one brand new fromthe dealer.. I can only imagine it would cost an arm and a leg.

I'd look for a brand new replica from a place that sells automotive aftermarket stuff.. or try to find a clean decent used one that yoru happy with..

And to save money, install it yourself..

I was thinking the same thing. I love my car and will keep it for a while, but I really wish I had more thigh support on the driver side. Is it possible to replace just the standard seat bottom with an s-line version?

i'm sure you can. it's just the matter of cost.. i believe they are very pricey. considering that you have a brand new model i'd just wait till the seats are worn a lil bit if you really wanna do it.

if they just cut the leather, i think they will likely just change the leather seat cover itself, not the entire seat (airbags and all)

So they'll keep the cushions and the seat and just replace the covers? Ugh I hate how they have to do everything again because of a stupid broken window :/

The only time I would ever consider replacing the seats in my B5 is when a pristine condish S4 seats would be given to me for free! I love the high bolster, sport look and would love it if I could find a set that matched the colour of my existing interior.

With an air bag and leather I doubt it would less than $2,000 CAD. Back in 1990 a Nissan 300ZX TT seat was over $2,700 each complete and it didn't have a side mount air bag so it would not be cheap. In any case it is doubtful they would put a new seat in the car, most insurance companies will go used unless they can't find anything and then they would look at OE covers.
