Default Rear light bulbs

Hi guys,

Is there some kind of aftermarket bulb I can buy. I just replaced the rear light bulbs again (3 times in 12 months) and this time the right side rear light bulb only lasted 5 days. Now it's burnt out again.

Is there a higher quality aftermarket bulb I can get?

Don't remember specific brand, but I last replaced 2 taillight bulbs 2yrs ago with ones I got from Canadian Tire - they are still operating. Make sure the connection to the bulb is solid by bending the tabs slightly; an intermittent connection can blow a bulb in short order (too many quick hot/cold cycles).

Thanks a4audi4fun,

I'll take a look at the connections. And possibly upgrade (LOL) to CDN Tire Bulbs.

you may also want to look into LED bulbs. this should eliminate all problems

Takes a lot of $2.50 taillight bulb failures though to match the cost of a pair of LED bulbs...

True, but factor in two more elements:

1) your time going to the store buying bulbs, then changing them

2) LED lights look awesome!

How much are the LED bulbs and where can I get them. Also, do they just fit in to the existing bulb socket?

FYI:
Make sure that that they match wattage wise because you will get a burnt out light warning with the LED's unless they have an inline resistor to match the wattage of the OEM ones

^^^ excellent advice!

IIRC you can find them at Canadian Tire, or if you wanted to order them, I am sure you could find a set at ecstuning.com

There's athread that I started that you might want to check out: https://www.audiforum.ca/audi-a4/616...led-bulbs.html. Also, HERE is a Canadian supplier of some great products. I've used them in the past for the "other" car. Might want to check them out though.
