PW, DRL, Int Lights, HVAC Resets Frequently???
Hey everyone,
I hope you all are doing well these days. I've been having this issue for the past couple weeks. I noticed it with my power windows would stop working mid roll-up or down. I would have to wait until the system resets and then it would start working until the next cycle. It happens several times on a trip to the store. Then I noticed that my Fog lights would also turn off during this 'reset'. My HVAC would also shutoff, and if my window is open I can hear my engine cooling fans ramp up. Same with my interior lights. So I finally got my VagCom configure and working and ran a bunch of scans, trying different things. I changed the (BCM) 8E0 907 279 E to 8E0 907 279 F (also tried a second one too). Anyhow, here is one of my last scans. I have an 2003 A4 1.8T Avant, running stock.

I noticed there's a Single-Wire Operation code that came up. Can this be what is causing these errors and symptoms? I do know that I have broken insulation on some of the door harness wires (Driver's Front, Rear Left, and Passenger Front, Haven't checked the Rear Right yet).
Any help on where I should start and/or plan of attack would be greatly appreciated.

Just an update to anyone that may be following this thread.
So I tackled my Driver's door (again), inspecting for any more broken wires. I nearly missed it this time again, but I saw a wire at the connector that was looking a little green. It was one of the DataBus wires. So I stared cleaning it and the crimp in the connector was broken! I had to use another connector that had the same crimp with a piece of wire to it. Spliced it in and scanned it. Results got a little bit better, but I was still getting a fault with No Communication on the Driver's and Rear Left Door, alternately (weird right???). So I checked the Driver's harness once more, but everything looked good. So I went to the Rear Left Door and found another broken Data-Bus wire, this one a little more obvious but more difficult to work on. I had to pull off the inner panel and remove the speaker so that I could undo some of the harness clips so that I could pull through the harness into the hinge area to work on it easier. Got it all spliced up and dressed in nicely, re-scanned it and it and the major faults were gone!
I think I'm going to cave and buy new harnesses for all the doors as most of them had a bunch of cracks in. So if anyone knows a cheap place to buy a Brand New harness, please let me know. Thx!
Next mission, a dipped headlight now. *sigh*
