Default ... and now come the cam sensor faults...

in the last two weeks ive had

my power steering pump die,
my power steering clamps fail,
3 of 4 brushings crack
my oil pan explode
my oil filter fall off
catalytic converters (both) die
timing belt replaced

now to my surprise, i have what the dealer called a "cam sensor code" detected. no specific details, as southgate audi in edmonton needs an entire 4 days to diagnose the problem.

any relation to the timing belt replacement perhaps? i had it done at an indy shop and saved $1K... looks like ill be making that up in no time...

OUCH thats a lot to go wrong in a short time.

Cam sensor code is usually just a faulty cam position sensor unless there are multiple banks experiencing the fault or a crankshaft position code to go along with it.

Hope you get it all resolved.

thanks for the tip. i suppose another few hundred dollars isn't really that much more in the grande scheme of all those repairs with a 7 year old car its almost inevitable that these things will happen, but its unsettling knowing that im driving around on a ticking time bomb... what next? ha.
