Default No heat

My 1.8t only has heat when I rev above 2000rpm. Any idea what could be causing this?

Same problem here!?
It is so cold in Vancouver this few days. I try all the settings, sometimes it has heat but most of the time just little warm air or cold air from the vents and my warranty just expired a month ago. I was thinking the heater blower or its fuse. Please help!

If it's not the water pump impeller it's probably a plugged heater core. Commonly plugged, get it flushed and you'll be amazed at the difference.

My daughter's '99 A4 was the same. I pulled the hoses going to the heater core, (At the base of the windsheild.) and flushed it backwards with hot water About a cup of cellulose fibre came out, from where I do not know. Hooked it back up and it now works fine.
To do this I bought 8' of 3/4" ID clear plastic hose from Canadian Tire. Cut in half, and put them on the heater core tubing stubs. Fill with how water, and simply blow the core backwards into an empty coffee can, with compressed air. I was amazed at the junk that came out. The heater core is a high point in the cooling system, and acts like a "filter". I had to flush about a dozen times before all the junk came out.

Hope this helps,

turbine guy.
