Need a Glove Box door
Hi Guys,
One of the hinges on my glove box snapped in half today. It closes okay, but it's pretty much done in. The dealer was gracious enough to offer to sell me a door for my glove box for $385. But I was wondering if anyone has some info on how I can find a used one. Thx! |
Re: Need a Glove Box door
Was that $385 for a hinge or the whole door?

Re: Need a Glove Box door
It was for the whole door. I thought the hinges were built into the door. At least it looked that way to me. If I could just buy the hinge, I would love that. Right now, I'm going to look into fixing it.

How about a scrapyard? Maybe you can find a totalled vehicle with intact glove box?

Go to frisco auto parts, I think they have it there. Ask for the used parts area.
It's hard to find audis in a scrapyard. |

Thank you. I'm going to try that this weekend. There's no way I'm spending $385 for a new door. :-)

To commiserate, my hinge went also. Same $2.00 bracket fix, except I added a chain restricter to take the weight when the box lid is open. We should do a poll and see how many have had the same problem. I love my Audi, but the accessories are not too robust. Like my broken glove box hinge, cup holder, business card holder box, centre arm rest hinge, rear arm rest latch. Hoe you do the fix OK! |
