This may not be the right area to post, so i apologize. This is my first time using site, but need some help! I have a 2004 A4 that i have had for few years. The key has never worked to unlock the doors, but does work in ignition. I have always had to use the keyfob to unlock car and then the key works in ignition. The keyfob stopped working recently (so I can't get in car) I replaced the battery in the remote and still doesn't work! I did try to the trick to resync remote but that didn't work either (assuming cause you have to put key in door, and like i said key doesn't work in door) I am a new college grad so am trying to fix cheapest way possible without having to have car towed, etc. Any thoughts comments?? Greatly appreciate any advice!

 

Your manual should have an instruction showing you how to reset the key fob. Very easy to do. Good luck! You may had dropped the key fob- this sometimes causes the fob to stop working & needed to ve reset.

 

maybe you should go back to a retailer on this , cause with keys it could get tricky
