Default help for buying B6

Hey there guys,
I am looking into buying a B6 1.8T avant......just wondering what kind of things i can look for when buying? things that should be relaced etc.....any help would be great...thanks

Service records. Timing belt depending what year and how many kilometers the timing belt shoul be changed around 100k 120k, control arms, any clicking in the steering wheel, how are the shocks? any thing basically that is movable and shows signs of wear.

if you are buying from a dealership get them to inspect it at their cost and see, but by an audi mechanic not their guy. Negotiate it into the contract once you get the car take it there they inspect if you are satisfied sale is complete if not money back

check maintenance history and suspension for tightness... timing belt is expensive and needs to be replaced around 140k kms...

take it to a mechanic that is not connected to the seller and have them do an independent evaluation of the car...

agree with all of the above
also check for sludge in the engine; variation in body panel colours to check for any body work that was done, one of those little machines that check paint density is good if you can find one; oh yea, make sure it's quattro

check the pulley I change the 3 rd one on my 2005 and only have 35000 miles

all good things to consider....whats parts and labour usually run on a timing belt replacement?

Upwards of $1000 you can get a kit for about $200 and DIY

should be made outta gold for that kinda scratch!
